Topsham, VT- Sheldon Leroy Smith, 72, of Topsham died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his home on Willey Hill Road surrounded by his family.He was born on August 22, 1943 in Topsham, VT the son of Fred and Marjorie (Gilman) Smith. He attended Topsham Elementary School.He worked for Wells-Lamson, North Barre Granite, Rock of Ages and Rouleau's before retiring in 2002.Sheldon loved to hunt and go fishing, snowmobiling and driving truck for his brother Sidney Smith; he also enjoyed wintering in Zephyrhills, FL.He is survived by his wife of Fifty-Two years, Barbara (Babs) Smith of Topsham, VT.; two sons, Jerry and his wife Cecile Smith of Grafton, VT and David J. Smith of Newbury, VT.; three granddaughters, Tiffany, Amanda and Courtney; three brothers, Sidney and his Mary Smith of Topsham, VT., Stanley Smith of Haverhill, NH and Lewis and his wife Jean Smith of Topsham, VT. Many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Alvah, Fred and Wayne Smith.Funeral services will be held at a later date.
