Shirley Ann Konicki, age 85, passed away on November 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born on November 13, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts to Anthony and Doris Krauchune. She grew up in Maynard, MA and spent her adult life in Pawtucket, RI before moving to Vermont in December 2021.
Shirley was a social worker for the State of Rhode Island before retiring in 1988. She also drove a school bus for the Lincoln Rhode Island school system part-time. Shirley was a very independent, open minded, strong willed, and a very caring woman. She loved going to the casino, playing cards, traveling, and had great love for animals which included Chichi her chihuahua.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Doris, and her sister Janet “Cookie” Boily of Naples, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Louann Noureau-Buongiovanni and son-in-law Jay Buongiovanni of North Concord, VT and her son Joseph Konicki and his wife Gloria Konicki of West Fairlee, VT. Her grandsons Michael Folan of Plainfield, CT and AaronJ Buongiovanni of Warwick, RI. Her great grandchildren Jackson and Kaiya Folan of Plainfield, CT, her brother-in-law Ken Boily of Naples, FL. Many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 113 Upper Plain Road, Bradford, VT at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19th with Father Andrew Bednardowicz officiating.
