Thomas Chester Hathorne Jr. age 83 died unexpectedly at his home in West Fairlee on Sunday January 2, 2022
He was born on October 26, 1938 in Leominster MA to Thomas and Helen (Waitekus) Hathorne. He attended the Worcester Boys Trade School and received a degree in Pattern Making after which he served in the U.S. Navy.
Thomas was a self-employed pattern maker while working in the aerospace industry for many years. Thomas worked 35yrs for Hamilton Standard prior to retiring to his home in West Fairlee.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking the mountain he could see from his front window and woodworking. His favorite times were those spent with family and friends sitting around the fire under the stars sharing a story or several.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of 41 yrs, daughter Connie Maryea and husband Craig of Russell MA. Son Timothy Hathorne of Springfield, MA and daughter Valerie Lawrence of Holyoke, MA, as well as granddaughter Jessica Loud and husband Gilbert of Williamsburg, MA, grandson Ryan Maryea of Eastham, MA, granddaughter Caitlyn Hathorne of Peoria, AZ,  Great-granddaughter Abigail Loud of Williamsburg, several cousins, long-time friend Edward Polek and many others.
He was pre-deceased by his mother and father as well as son Robert Hathorne and granddaughter Elizabeth M Maryea.
A celebration of life is being planned for the spring.
