Tish Paye

October 30, 1949 — May 4, 2021

Bradford, VT-Patricia "Tish" Paye passed away peacefully May 4, 2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by family. She chose to be cremated and there will be a Memorial Service later in May.Tish was born in 1949 in Rockville Centre, NY to Mary Agnes Dailey and Alfred A. Ricky Sr. She is survived by two sons, Michael and Hunter Paye, and a large loving family including the great "Uncle Charlie," and sisters and brothers, Cathy Dailey-Munkelwitz, Mary Ann Garruppo, Al Ricky and Frank Bartell.Tish fell in love with the area, and particularly Lime Kiln Camp in Haverhill, NH, and moved there in 1982, living there and a neighboring town for years before moving across the river to West Newbury, VT., and then to Bradford years later. She loved nature and animals and music of every kind; she loved Joni Mitchell and the great songwriters of the 1970s and 80s; she loved the ocean and Long Island; she loved her friends and family and loved books, reading endless ones throughout her life, and in doing so traveled the world. She worked helping battered women in Newport, RI before moving north working various jobs before becoming a substitute teacher at Oxbow High School for 18 years. She enjoyed working with kids and was known for supporting those who were having a rough time at home or school. She was known to champion the underdog, and was there for so many of them, like those at the Pike School. The local communities were incredibly charitable during her six-week battle, and the family thanks them with all their heart. Any letters or donations may be sent to Hunter Paye, PO Box 668, Bradford, VT 05033, to be distributed to her sons. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
