Bradford, VT- Verlea E. (Tuttle) Covey 78, a longtime resident of Bradford, VT passed away peacefully, Tuesday February 7, 2017, surrounded by family.She was born on May 2, 1938 the daughter of Allen and Alfreda (Sweet) Tuttle. She attended Thetford Academy and started working at a young age.On June 18, 1955, she married Merle A. Covey Sr., son of Ernest and Nina Covey. They lived most of their married life in the Bradford area where they owned and operated several businesses together. A devoted Mother and wife she took great pride in caring for her family and home. She found enjoyment in antiquing, camping, and supporting both local and professional racing.She leaves behind four daughters; Vicki Bazemore and her husband Marvin of Wilder VT, Cindy Ilsley and her husband Troy of Bradford VT, Merla Ilsley and her husband Keith of Vershire VT and Tammie Goodrich and her husband Roy of Post Mills VT; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; siblings Alma Gray, William Tuttle and Allene Richardson. Predeceased by her husband of 53 years, her son Merle (Buzz) A. Covey Jr., one sister Valroy Durkee and two brothers Brian Tuttle and Alfred Tuttle.The family invites you to a celebration of Verlea's life to be held on February 19, 2017, from 2pm to 5pm, at the Orange East Senior Center in Bradford VT.
