FAIRLEE- Weymouth "Joe" Pike, Jr., 72, of Fairlee, VT, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, following his courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 6, 1952, in Haverhill, NH, Joe was a loving husband, father, papa, and friend.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Susan, and his three beloved children: Christine (Shawn) Langley, Jennifer (Lance) Loiselle, and James (Erika) Pike. He cherished his time as papa to Christopher, Tyler, Brock, and Adelyn. Joe also leaves behind five sisters: Gloria Daisey, Bonnie Madigan, Faye Wurtz, Judy Franklin, and Joanne Morey as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, James "Jimmy" Pike, and his parents, Weymouth Sr. and Helen Pike.
A dedicated worker, Joe's career included electrical, plumbing, serving on the road crew in Orford, and logging. Logging allowed him to be outdoors where he was happiest, so after many years working for various companies he remained self-employed until his retirement.
Joe was a true friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand, and he was known for his generous spirit. His passions extended to the great outdoors, where he thrived on hunting, fishing, and sugaring. A true outdoorsman with a profound respect for wildlife, Joe was often known to take in and care for orphaned animals. He had a particular passion for hunting with hounds, participating in coon hunting during his youth and bear hunting for over 40 years. Joe enjoyed the simple things in life like morning coffee with friends and watching NASCAR races.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice for VT & NH or New Hampshire Fish & Game.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held at a later date. Willing to keep our memories of him close, we invite those who knew him to remember the love and laughter he brought into our lives.
Joe will be profoundly missed, especially by those whose lives he touched.
Arrangements are in the care of Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain in Bradford.
