William Huyler Danforth Sr

East Corinth, VT- William Huyler Danforth Sr., 88, of East Corinth, VT died Sunday, February 20, 2015 at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare. He was born on June 26, 1926 in Hardwick, VT the son of Raymond and Maude (Belknap) Danforth. He attended schools in Stannard, VT. He worked for P&C Food's driving truck for twenty-five years retiring in 1989. After retirement he worked for Bond Auto and WRJ Trucking in White River Jct., VT. Huyler as he was called by many enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, family gatherings and the fish in his pond. He is survived by three sons, William H. Danforth Jr., of Piermont, NH. Ike E. Danforth of Jefferson City, TN., and Robert W. Danforth of Corinth, VT; four step-sons, Steve, Stan, Mark and Mike and one step-daughter, Melinda; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, June Elkhill of Avonparks, FL. He was predeceased by one son, David and one daughter Sheila and seven siblings. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 3-5 pm at Hale Funeral Home, 187 Upper Plain, Bradford, VT. Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring at the family lot in the Waits River Cemetery in Waits River, VT.
