Janice Louise (Goodfleisch) Sommerer, 66, of Piermont, New Hampshire, died December 12, 2020 in Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH, after a long decline. She was born January 26, 1954 in The Bronx, 3rd child and 1st daughter of Theodore Joseph Goodfleisch and Jean Hume (Strecker) Goodfleisch.
Janice graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in The Bronx in 1972, and like her father and brother Bud worked for Consolidated Edison Company. She retired early and moved to Piermont.
She loved cats, always having two or three. She enjoyed nature and her flowers. She kept her bird feeders full and chased bears away from them with her whistle. Janice made friends easily wherever she went, and it made her happy giving treats to children at Halloween.
Janice was predeceased by her parents; by her brother, Eugene William (Bud) Goodfleisch; and her sister, Laurel Ann Goodfleisch.
She is survived by her brother, Theodore Charles (Ted) Goodfleisch of North Weymouth, Massachusetts (firstname.lastname@example.org.) No services are planned. Interment of her ashes will be at the convenience of the family in the family plot in South Lawn Cemetery, Piermont, in the Spring of 2021.
Arrangements are by Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, Vermont.
Donations in her memory maybe made to your local animal shelter to provide for the care of cats as they brought her much joy.
